Biography

Rodrigo Lugo is an attorney in our Denver, Colorado, office specializing in medical malpractice defense. Rodrigo regularly represents physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other healthcare providers and facilities in civil litigation and administrative proceedings with state regulatory and licensing boards. While practicing primarily in Colorado, Rodrigo frequently assists members of the firm’s national trial team and has provided crucial support to cases in multiple jurisdictions across the country, including but not limited to Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Illinois, Connecticut, Ohio, and more.

In addition to medical cases, Rodrigo also represent clients in personal injury, premises liability, labor and employment matters, intellectual property and trade secret disputes, contracts and business litigation, and consumer protection and fraud. Rodrigo is a talented writer with appellate expertise and has handled several cases at the Colorado Court of Appeals, Colorado Supreme Court, and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before joining HBS, Rodrigo was a law clerk intern for the 20th Judicial District in Boulder and a legal intern at the Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center, the Colorado Supreme Court, and the business and licensing division of the Colorado Office of the Attorney General. Rodrigo earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at El Paso, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado, graduating with top honors and several recognitions at both institutions.
