Biography

Mr. Beard is a partner at Kagan Law Group and has been counseling individuals and businesses for over 12 years. Mr. Beard’s practice focuses on the corporate and general counsel needs of business clients, specifically including contracts, organizational structure, corporate and real estate transactions, employment policy and compliance matters. Mr. Beard has represented clients ranging from large real estate developers and regional franchisors to smaller businesses such as local construction contractors and consulting firms.

Mr. Beard was born in Annapolis, and raised in nearby Davidsonville. As a scholarship student-athlete at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Mr. Beard was a four-year letterman on the varsity lacrosse team, earning a bachelor’s degree in Economics. After graduating from the University of Baltimore School of Law (Cum Laude) Mr. Beard joined the corporate and transactional practice group of McNamee, Hosea, Jernigan, Kim, Greenan & Lynch, P.A. In 2012, Mr. Beard was engaged by Smartlink, LLC, a national wireless & IT services firm to serve as General Counsel and Vice President.

Mr. Beard is actively engaged in the community as a member of local charity boards, and volunteers as a youth sports coach. Mr. Beard currently resides in Davidsonville with his wife, Meredith, and their three children.
