Biography

Sharon T. Diamant was a prosecutor in Montgomery County for 10 years before going into private practice. She started in the district court,  handling thousands of misdemeanor crimes before being promoted to the juvenile division. There,  Sharon specialized in crimes involving the sexual abuse of children. In 2008, Sharon joined the Special Prosecution Team in the felony division,  where she handled financial crimes,  fraud, embezzlement and crimes of a sensitive nature involving public officials.    In 2010, Sharon and her law partner opened Diamant Gerstein,  LLC.  The large, private suite in Rockville is ideal for clients to come in, feel comfortable, and get top-notch legal services.  The law firm does criminal defense,  domestic work,  family law, child custody work, peace and protective orders, and child support.   Sharon prides herself on providing competent, effective legal representation without nickel-and-diming clients. She personally answers every phone call, text message and email.  Sharon believes a quality bedside manner with clients is the single most effective tool in assisting clients who are going through a difficulty in their lives.  Sharon has been named to Maryland's Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for 2012 and 2013. She was named to Maryland's Super Lawyers List in 2016, 2017,  2018 and 2019.  She is also a member of the Montgomery County Bar,  the National Drunk Driving Defense Association, is a board member of the Sobeloff Society,  is a member of the Collaborative Law Group, the Women's Bar Association,  Montgomery County Inns of Court and is on Montgomery County's Judicial Nominating Commission.   Sharon has lectured on issues related to criminal law at the Police Academy and Montgomery College.    Sharon lives in Montgomery County with her husband and four children.
