Biography

Stephen Hébert’s journey as a fighter began long before his legal career. From 1993 to 1999, he competed as an amateur boxer in the lightweight, light-welterweight, and welterweight divisions. He retired from boxing to pursue law, earning his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University-New Orleans and joining the Louisiana bar in 2002. Stephen’s legal career began as a law clerk for the Honorable Marc T. Amy at the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal, followed by his role as an Assistant District Attorney in Orleans Parish, where he gained extensive trial experience and helped reform asset and bond forfeiture policies. Stephen also developed significant civil litigation expertise at King, LeBlanc & Bland, P.L.L.C., representing businesses in complex commercial, employment, and maritime disputes. Since founding his private practice in 2010, he has successfully defended clients in criminal cases across Louisiana and assisted plaintiffs in personal injury lawsuits. His exceptional work has earned numerous accolades, including AV-Preeminent ratings from Martindale-Hubbell, recognition as a Top Lawyer by New Orleans Magazine, and repeated listings in Super Lawyers Magazine.

Outside the courtroom, Stephen remains active in martial arts, earning a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2024. He also contributes to legal education as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University-New Orleans.
