Biography

Virginia is a Partner at our office in Tifton, Georgia, focusing on professional negligence and medical malpractice, general liability, premises liability, product liability, motor vehicle liability, real estate, transactional law, collections, and bankruptcy creditors’ rights.

A native of Atlanta, Virginia lived in several towns in south Georgia in her early years before returning to Atlanta for high school. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Georgia along with a Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.

After law school she moved to Valdosta, where she worked with an insurance defense law firm before joining HBS. Virginia is married to Christopher D. Hall, an attorney in Valdosta, and they have three children.

Virginia is admitted in all state courts and in the U.S. District Courts for both the Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia.

Experience

Bankruptcy Creditors' Rights

Virginia handles cases involving collections, foreclosure, and bankruptcy matters for creditors in the state of Georgia and throughout the Southeast.

Business Transactions

Throughout her practice, Virginia has worked with several clients on numerous matters from entity organization, non-disclosure agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and various other corporate matters.

Construction

Virginia has experience in handling construction claims and representation of owners, builders, contractors, subcontractors, and insurers throughout the state of Georgia, with a focus in the South and Middle Georgia areas.

Environmental, Mass Torts, & Land Use

Virginia has worked with various counties in the South Georgia area concerning land use and environmental issues that these counties face frequently, including but not limited to zoning issues, eminent domain, special use permits, building permits, and plat approvals. Virginia’s clientele also includes small, medium, and large land development companies; lenders; and individual home owners for all areas of land use that may arise.

General Liability

Virginia has represented numerous clients including individuals involved in auto accidents, slip and falls, and retail store owners as well as other individuals and entities involved in general liability matters.

Medical Malpractice

Virginia has defended health care professionals and medical providers including physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice actions throughout her time at HBS.

Transportation

Virginia has served as counsel for clients involved in motor vehicle accidents and accidents with trucking entitles. She has provided opinions on loss, level of exposure, and both uninsured and underinsured issues.

Real Estate

Virginia has represented numerous clients including lenders, individuals, and governmental agencies. Services include various real estate matters such as residential closings, commercial closings, lease arrangements, landlord/tenant matters, foreclosure proceedings, writ of possession matters, and redemption proceedings.

She has also represented various Georgia counties on tax sale matters and is able to conduct real estate matters at all of our HBS offices and at the office locations she has in Valdosta, Douglas, and Waycross.

Workers' Compensation

Throughout her practice, Virginia has worked in defending workers’ compensation claims for employers, insurers, and insurance carriers throughout Georgia.
