Cohen and Wolf, P.C.’s Physicians Practices Group represents physicians and other health care providers in a full range of substantive areas, including corporate and business law, tax, health care law, real estate, employment, and litigation. The Group counsels physician groups on a variety of sensitive issues and brings extensive drafting and interpretive experience to physicians' employment and partnership agreements, mergers and acquisitions of physician practices, the consequences of non-competition agreements, governance, and the planning and succession of a medical practice.
The Group regularly assists physicians in their dealings with hospitals and other health care facilities, managed care organizations and insurance companies. In many cases, this advocacy challenges the conventional inequities and unequal bargaining power that often threatens a physician’s relationship with these institutions. In matters of licensure or professional discipline, attorneys in the Group appear before governing boards on behalf of affected physicians.
The Physicians Practices Group is comprised of a cross-disciplinary and responsive team of attorneys who also practice in the firm’s Business & Corporate, Tax, Real Estate, Employment & Labor, and Litigation Groups.
