Administrative Law

Fineman Krekstein & Harris represents clients in a wide variety of matters before administrative bodies in Philadelphia including, among others, the Zoning Board of Adjustment of Philadelphia, the Tax Review Board of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia License and Inspection Review Board, the Philadelphia Historical Commission, and the Philadelphia Board of Revision of Taxes.

Represented a local television station needing a zoning variance to erect a microwave transmission tower in a heavily populated area of Philadelphia, before the local zoning board of adjustment. Working with the community and an expert in microwave technology, Fineman Krekstein & Harris successfully allayed neighbor concerns about health and aesthetics prior to the hearing, easing the way for a prompt approval of the variance at a reasonable cost to the client.

  • The Firm was successful before the Philadelphia Board of Revision of Taxes in having real estate taxes lowered for large multifamily landlords whose vacancy rates and rental income had been impacted by economic conditions.
  • The Firm was successful in representing commercial property owners before the Philadelphia License and Inspection Review Board in reversing decisions made at the Philadelphia Department of License and Inspection which impeded the development of the clients’ properties.
  • The Firm successfully represented multi-family developers before the Philadelphia Historical Commission in reversing staff determinations of the necessity to comply with certain regulations that would have cost the developers large monetary sums.
