Zoning, Land Use, & Development

At Hinman, Howard & Kattell, our lawyers skillfully guide clients through all facets of the zoning, land use, and development process. We represent developers, community groups, and individual property owners as well as municipalities. Our representation spans assistance in obtaining municipal approvals via submissions and appearances before municipal planning boards, zoning boards of appeal, town boards, village boards and city boards and counsels.

Our lawyers regularly appear before planning and zoning boards on behalf of clients seeking zoning variances, conditional and special use permits, master plans, planned unit developments, hearings and appeals.

We also have great experience in representing municipal boards, guiding them through the application process and relevant law.

Our representation in this area also includes the challenge and defense of municipal decisions in Article 78 proceedings, development permitting at both the local and state levels, infrastructure development, annexation and local law development and implementation.
