Our clients call on us for representation and counsel in civil and criminal tax controversy matters and disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). In addition, we represent clients in both administrative proceedings and in litigation regarding state and local tax matters, including those relating to income, franchise, sales, use, ad valorem, occupational license, and severance taxes. Attorneys in our Tax & Fiduciary Litigation practice are also active in legislative matters on behalf of clients and regularly interface with our government relations-focused attorneys with respect to pending statutes and regulations. Additionally, this group handles fiduciary, trust, and estate litigation matters.

In 2009, Jones Walker was named to MultiCultural Law Magazine’s list of "Top 100 Law Firms for Women," part of a series of listings of the top 100 law firms for diversity. The listings are compiled based on diversity statistics derived from annual surveys that the publication sends to law firms with more than 100 attorneys.
