5.0/5.0 Review for Richard Somach by a Attorney on 10/24/19 in Creditors Rights
The Litigation Group at Norris McLaughlin & Marcus includes over 60 attorneys, many with a wealth of trial experience, who often provide services to more than one practice group. We appear in state and federal courts in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and regularly supervise litigation in many other jurisdictions in the United States. Our attorneys also handle private arbitrations, as well as contested cases before a wide variety of state and federal administrative agencies. Our extensive experience enables us to respond quickly, even in complex cases. Whenever it becomes clear that resolution of a dispute will require an adversary proceeding, regardless of the precise forum, the firm prepares to dedicate maximum efforts to achieve positive results for our client. The ability of our litigation attorneys to consult with members of our other non-litigation departments creates an integrated approach more likely to yield a desired outcome.
Our core litigation strengths include:
The firm’s extensive representation of major corporations in transactional matters including mergers, acquisitions, business development and financing, bankruptcy, Uniform Commercial Code issues and the like, has resulted in our being retained as counsel in major commercial litigation. Our trial attorneys are experienced in all aspects of corporate, securities, chancery, equity, and other business-related litigation.
Role as Local Counsel
We are frequently asked to serve as local counsel to out-of-state law firms whose clients are involved in major litigation in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania state and federal courts. Our role can vary from serving as local “eyes and ears” to serving as lead or co-lead counsel. Our primary goal as local counsel is to work cooperatively with the out-of-state firm to obtain the best possible outcome for the client.
