I have always considered J. Gregory Ashwell a legal scholar with high ethical standards. When I first joined the Virginia Bar, he was my mentor during the "Newly Admitted Attorneys" mandatory training. I have appeared before him dozens of times since. He is patient, always provided clear decisions, and placed enormous time and resources into reaching the right decision. He is a walking legal-encyclopedia capable of explaining dense case-law and confusing statues with amazing clarity. Read less
