In Oklahoma, there are special laws that shield cities and municipalities from liability and it takes an experienced lawyer to navigate the Governmental Tort Claims process and get victims the compensation they deserve.

Lead Trial Lawyer, Jim Buxton, pioneered the use of a “Nuisance” theory to maximize the recovery for sewer flood victims. Previously, a homeowner would be capped at $25,000.00 under the law in Oklahoma. Now that the courts recognize “nuisance” claims for the victims of sewer claims, the damages are now capped at $175,000.00 per occupant of the home. Since 2007 we have tried or settled cases all across Oklahoma and have recovered over millions for Oklahoma homeowners.
