Phillips Parker Orberson & Arnett PLC is a civil defense litigation firm. We have an AV rating under Martindale-Hubbell guidelines. PPOA has been named to U.S. News-Best Lawyers "Best Law Firms." We are also listed in Best's Directory of Recommended Attorneys and Adjusters and the Council on Litigation Management. Our attorneys have served as officers and committee chairs with the Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations.

We routinely represent defendants in state and Federal courts throughout Kentucky and in Southern Indiana. Our attorneys have developed considerable expertise in areas including medical negligence, professional liability, products liability, automobile negligence, bad faith, employment and wrongful discharge, construction negligence, insurance coverage, premises liability, and mass tort litigation. We also have a staff of experienced paralegals and nurse paralegals who provide significant assistance and support with all aspects of our practice.

Members of the firm are frequent lecturers on litigation and insurance topics for state and local continuing legal education seminars, professional associations and clients. We are active in promoting quality legal education, especially in the field of trial practice. Our members frequently serve as judges in local, regional and national law school trial competitions, and our members have served as adjunct faculty for the University of Louisville's Brandeis School of Law.

Since its founding in 1999, PPOA has grown to be one of the top 15 largest law firms in Louisville and one of the largest firms in Kentucky devoted solely to trial practice. In 2008, PPOA opened its Lexington office. In 2013, PPOA opened its Florida office in Key West. The emphasis of our practice continues to be the defense of insurance, corporate and municipal litigation. In 2011, PPOA was recognized by The Kentucky Jury Verdict Reporter as "The Most Prolific Trial Firm in Kentucky," i.e. our lawyers tried more reported civil jury trials to verdict than any other firm in the state.
