About this firm

Shaffer & Shaffer PLLC expanded from the general practice of Harry G. Shaffer, Sr. who began his practice in 1909 and was joined by his son, Harry G. Shaffer, Jr. Since the 1970s, the firm has carefully expanded both geographically and in the scope of services we provide. Now in the 21st century, we serve our clients with two offices representing individuals and businesses all across West Virginia and the surrounding states.

Since 1909, Shaffer & Shaffer has grown from the solo practice of H. G. Shaffer, Sr., in Madison, West Virginia to a regional firm of 12 attorneys in two offices. In 1986, the firm moved to its newly constructed 12,000 square foot quarters at 330 State Street in Madison, West Virginia. To better serve their growing client base, in 1990 Shaffer & Shaffer opened offices in Charleston, overlooking the Kanawha River in the historic East End. Shaffer & Shaffer PLLC and its attorneys are listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and our partner attorney has been AV® Preeminent| Peer Review RatedSM by Martindale-Hubbell® for decades, AV being the highest rating.
