The Willcox, Buyck & Williams, P.A. was founded in 1895 by P.A. Willcox and Fred L. Willcox. The firm, like Florence, has its history rooted in the railroad. The firm built its practice on that foundation, but as the area grew, so did the firm, which expanded its practice on a business and litigation foundation with particular emphasis on the defense of claims. The firm's practice has grown in geographic scope, now encompassing all of South Carolina's eastern counties including the rapidly growing coast, and throughout the S.C. Federal Court system. The clients of the firm have diversified, encompassing questions of products liability, insurance coverage, business litigation, major casualty litigation, professional malpractice, tax and estate planning, real estate acquisition, development, and litigation, employment, health care, and strategic and transactional corporate law.

The Willcox, Buyck & Williams, P.A. is proud of its tradition of public service. Its partners have included those who became State and Federal Judges, U.S. Attorney, Legislators, and those with positions of honor and responsibility within the State and Federal governments. The Willcox, Buyck & Williams, P.A.'s home office is located in the heart of downtown Florence, halfway between the State and Federal Courts.
