Premarital Agreements

A premarital agreement (also known as a prenuptial agreement or pre-nup) is a contract that spouses enter into before their wedding. The agreement outlines how assets and debts will be divided in the event the couple gets divorced, and whether one person will receive spousal support (alimony or palimony). Antenuptial agreements, which are similar but less common, are created after a couple has married.
