Taft-Hartley Plans

A Taft-Hartley Plan, also known as a multi-employer plan, is a form of defined-benefit pension plan that is maintained by more than one employer and a labor union. Taft-Hartley Plans are commonly used in the entertainment, mining, retail food, garment manufacturing, trucking and maritime industries. Attorneys with Taft-Hartley Plan experience can assist clients with issues related to establishing, funding and administering Taft-Hartley Plans. These include fiduciary responsibilities and compliance, plan amendments, mass withdrawals and other issues. Taft-Hartley Plan lawyers can also assist clients in disputes and litigation related to alleged pension fraud and denied benefits, as well as Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) audits.
