I was selected as a member of The National Trial Lawyers Top 100, which is an invitation-only organization that recognizes the top 100 trial lawyers in each state. During law school, I worked for the Navy JAG, NCIS division in Washington, DC and also clerked for the United States Attorney's Office in Charleston. After graduating from law school, I began my legal career at the Ninth Circuit Solicitor's Office, focusing my efforts on prosecuting criminal domestic violence cases. Starting my career focusing specifically on prosecuting criminal domestic violence cases provided me with a unique opportunity to learn from the ground up the ins and outs of the criminal justice system, including the experience negotiating pleas and trying countless bench trials. I was promoted to the violent crime team where I seized the opportunity to handle all types of violent crimes, ranging from assault and battery to drug crimes to armed robberies to attempted murder cases.
I have also successfully represented personal injury clients in negotiations, mediations and litigation of their claims. I provide a personalized approach towards personal injury cases by not working for big insurance companies or corporate clients. I work for the individual client and focusing on their needs. My goal is to make sure his clients receive the maximum compensation available, whether that means a trial or through successful pretrial negotiations.
In addition to my personal injury and criminal defense clients, I am the legal advisor for Hunting for Healing Inc., which is a charitable organization aimed at providing positive outdoor events and hunts for disabled United States military veterans and spouses. I counsel the organization on legal issues to ensure Hunting for Healing can best serve the military community. I also work as a prosecutor for the city of Folly Beach. As a Folly Beach prosecutor, I have gained insight and experience that is ultimately beneficial to my private clients. Courtroom exposure, a sharpened skill set and building a strong reputation as a trial attorney are only a few client benefits. Additionally, this experience has provided me with knowledge regarding what is needed by a prosecutor to convict or prove a case- which, in turn, helps me understand what is necessary in building the strongest defense possible.
