Biography

Casey R. Young is a highly experienced trial attorney with over 100 jury trials to verdict. She practices in the Raleigh office of Cranfill Sumner LLP, where her work focuses on medical malpractice and premises liability litigation, with a particular emphasis on representing retail, restaurant, and hospitality clients. Casey also has experience advising businesses on North Carolina’s dram shop laws and liquor licensing matters before the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Commission.

Before joining Cranfill Sumner LLP, Casey served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Wake County District Attorney’s Office for over 13 years. During her tenure, she prosecuted a wide range of violent crimes, including numerous homicides, and spent several years in the Special Victims Unit. Her extensive courtroom experience, developed through years of high-stakes litigation, uniquely positions her to represent both small local businesses and large corporate entities with confidence and precision.

Casey is known for her thoughtful, thorough, and strategic approach to client service. She values clear communication, careful preparation, and practical problem-solving, always aiming to deliver results that align with her clients’ goals and values.

In addition to her litigation practice, Casey has honed strong negotiation skills through collaboration with opposing counsel and expert witnesses. She enjoys crafting compelling case strategies and presenting complex facts in a way that resonates with juries.

Casey earned her J.D. from Campbell University School of Law in 2011 and her B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina in 2007.

Outside of her professional life, Casey enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching sports, and traveling internationally whenever possible.
