Constitutional Law

Constitutional law attorneys assist clients whose civil rights have been violated by the government. Most constitutional law cases focus on one of several legal issues, including the First Amendment (freedom of religion, freedom of the press and freedom of expression), Second Amendment (right to bear arms), due process or equal protection. Because of the nature of constitutional law claims, you need a law firm that has experience with both the U.S. Constitution and your state's constitution. Depending on the nature of your issue, trial experience--in both local and appellate courts--may also be essential.
