Lawyers-Mail calendar sync: Android

Before calendar sync can work on your Android device, please make sure the following DNS record is added to your domain name.

1. Host: mail
   Type: CNAME
   Address:mail.lawyers-mail.com
2. Example: mail.mydomain.com | CNAME | mail.lawyers-mail.com
3. If you do not know how to do this, please contact our Customer Support department or your domain registrar directly for assistance.

How do I set up my webmail account as a CalDAV account on my Android device?

You can use one of two apps to set up a CalDAV account on your Android device:

• Caldav Sync Free Beta

or the paid app

• DAVdroid(paid app)

There are setup directions for both apps below, but recommend DAVdroid for easier synchronization and more robust support.

Note: If your domain doesn’t have an SSL certificate, you will get a warning during setup. If you still want to add the CalDAV account, accept the warning and continue.
 

Caldav Sync Free Beta Setup

First, go to the Google Play Store and download Caldav Sync Free Beta. Once you’ve installed Caldav Sync Free Beta, do the following on your Android device:

1. Tap Settings.
2. Select Accounts.
3. Tap Add Account.
4. Select CalDav Sync Adapter.
5. For User enter your email address.
6. For Password enter your email password.
7. For URL enter https://mail.yourdomain.com/caldav/youremailaddress.com
8. (e.g. https://mail.martindale.com/caldav/[email protected]). Conversely, check with your email administrator for this information.
9. Tap Sign in or register
10. Events in your webmail calendars will now be visible in the Calendar app on your device. Any changes made in webmail will show up on your device with a refresh.
11. The Caldav Sync Free Beta app will sync your calendar events about every 15 min.(depending on your phone’s settings). A manual sync can also be applied by going to the CalDav app settings. On your Android go to Settings -> Accounts -> CalDav Sync Free Beta to manually sync

DAVdroid Setup

First, go to the Google Play Store and download DAVdroid.Once you’ve installed DAVdroid, do the following on your Android device:

1. Tap Settings.
2. Select Accounts.
3. Tap Add Account.
4. Select DAVdroid.
5. Select Login with URL and username
6. If a pop-up comes up, tap OK
7. For URL enter mail.yourdomain.com (e.g. mail.martindale.com).
8. For Username enter your email address.
9. For Password enter your email password.
10. Tap Next.
11. When the Pop-Up message comes up, hit Yes.
12. Select the Calendars you want to sync.
13. Events in your webmail calendars will now be visible in the Calendar app on your device. Any changes made in webmail will show up on your device with a refresh.
14. Sync options can be found within the DAVdroid app if you would like to adjust the time interval of syncing
